Soundtrack Of The Sun | Part IV
Last but not least: Here we’ve got the last five bands we wanted to recommend for the summer. We hope you will enjoy the music just like the bands we have introduced in the previous two weeks. Hopefully you will get into right mood for the best season of Berlin!!!
1. DUM DUM GIRLS: They’re girls from L.A.. But they are not you might be thinking! On pitchfork.com/tv you can see the live video of the song Tunnelvision. Have a look for yourself. Their music definitely follows in their label’s (Sub Pop) shoes!
2. EAGLE SEAGULLS: Some of you might even have been following this band from Nebraska for the last couple of years. They have been touring quite a lot, for example with Gnarles Barkley or Tokyo Police Club. Their rapid album „The year of the how-to book“ really shows that the Seagulls and Ryan Hadlock (their producer / Blone Redhead, The Gossip) make a good team.
3. XIU XIU: These guys are from New York and North Carolina. It’s modern music from modern people. They’ve got a blog. They’ve got a new album. They’ve just got the know how. Xiu Xiu for life! P.S.: The commendable record is called Dear God, I Hate Myself.
4. THE WHITE STRIPES: This band from Detroit is treated by some fans like a religion. They’ve just finished a tour through Canada’s middle of nowwhere (how cool is that?!). Even though I haven’t listened to the album yet, I still recommend it. With Meg and Jack you simply don’t make a mistake.
5. SHE & HIM: Now we’ve got something completely different. It’s a mixture of folk and pop music. It involves very beautiul femal singing. Zoey Deschanel and Matt Ward give you the feeling of the 1960s, just without the annoying hippie attitude. “Volume Two“ is a very sympathetic piece of music.
