Balloons are something beautiful. They are so childlike and ‘naive’. So it’s quite appropriate that the tank made of balloons has been demounted into its bits and pieces. When I saw Hans Hemmerts sculptures of balloons for the first time I was instantly reminded of a song by The FOALS called balloons. They have played on monday at Columbia Club. I will be a proper Berliner now by telling you that the concert could have lasted a little longer and that the lead singer, Yannis Phillippakis, could have tried to hide his weariness… But still: The songs were great, it was a lot of fun and one is still looking forward to listening to the new album!

And by coincidence I have recorded a part of the exact song. It’s not in the best possible quality, but I reckon it is alright. It was just to packed, and standing right in the front with the masses pushing from behind it’s just impossible to hold still And that’s not the point of a concert anyways, to stare at a small screen and try to make a sound video!
